Midwinter Warmer – Holly & Ivy will be performing a concert at 7.30 pm in Seaton Sluice Community Centre, tickets £10. This follows a Day of Song led by David Oliver and Jane Harland. To book tickets for the concert and find out more about the workshops, email Jane Harland.

Following last year’s very enjoyable visit, the Holly & Ivy Roadshow will be returning to Core Music for an early evening concert at Sunday 17th December at 6 pm.

The Holly and Ivy roadshow is a concert presenting songs, stories, dances and customs associated with midwinter, Christmas and the New Year. It’s lively, informal, participatory and highly professional. With a special contribution from Teesdale’s Cream Tees.

This year special guests Holly & Ivy will bring their festive magic from the North East of England.  Performers Stewart Hardy, David Oliver and Laura Connolly will join Cecil Sharp House Choir on a lively and exciting journey through the midwinter customs and traditions of Britain. Join us for our annual yuletide celebration crammed with song, dance, music and good cheer.

October Workshops
Play-along Session in Harmony for Mixed Instruments

This will be a Zoom call open to intermediate players (and above) of any instrument. Notation will be provided in advance for all the tunes, together with suggestions for basic chords and a harmony line but feel free to join in by ear! You can play the tune along with Stewart, play an accompaniment with a bass line, chords or a harmony (your own or follow the suggestions) or enjoy playing the tune whilst Stewart plays a harmony. Spoiler alert – Stewart is a fiddle player! The harmonies may extend beyond the range of your instrument so if you have specific requirements, please get in touch.
