George Welch & Stewart Hardy
For this venture Stewart has teamed up with the North East institution that is George Welch.
Together for more than ten years, they have indulged in a “busman’s holiday” – playing for the sheer pleasure of doing so and delighting audiences with the characteristic spontaneity which is the hallmark of their unashamedly shambolic (but in a good way) show.
George’s hilarious stories give way to lilting melodies, driving tunes and moving songs, delivered with a baritone voice that has the richness of molasses.
Once you have heard George perform his songs, accompanied by his own guitar playing and Stewart’s fiddle, you will not be left in any doubt that the success of this highly entertaining duo is built on solid musical foundations.
