Lee and I will be performing as a duo at the Baldock & Letchworth Blues, Folk & Roots club in support for Said The Maiden. It promises to be a great evening, launching at 8.30 pm.

Very excited to be joining Lee Maddison and Nigel Spaven (bass) at this highly acclaimed venue in Camden Town. Very few tickets are remaining for this, so if you can get to London, or know someone down that way, act now!

Two workshops with Stewart Hardy

Wednesdays 29th March and 12th April

These workshops will be rehearsing arrangements of tunes written by Stewart to commemorate the tricentenary of Morpeth Town Hall, for a performance at the Golden Gala Concert. All bowed string players of intermediate standard and above are welcome.

Participation £6 (one or two workshops)
School age children are free.

“A Northumberland journey in Photographs, Songs and Music”

This show brings you not only a fascinating collaboration of music and photography but it also brings together two great local artists for the first time.

Andy Craig is a professional photographer and has been photographing the Northumberland Coast since he moved to the area in 2008. “Earning a living from photography is a fantastic way of life and it has allowed me to explore the art of photography and delve deeply into the creative process. My music and my photography go hand in hand for me so it seemed appropriate to combine the two together into this music & photography presentation.”  Andy feels that it is the same creative process that informs photography and music “it is about seeing, feeling or experiencing nature and then passing that on to an audience so that they can share the moment through my photographs. It is really exciting to work with Stewart on this project.  To have Stewart playing and interpreting my music takes it to a new level.”

In this project his photography allows us to see Northumberland through his eyes, whilst his music captures the essence of Northumberland landscapes, giving us an opportunity to share in his personal response to this beautiful part of the world.”

Stewart and Frank will perform in this lovely venue in Dumfries and Galloway featuring lots of new material from their forthcoming release.

Stewart and Frank are excited to be playing in the beautiful church at The Hearth in Horsley. This concert is part of the May 2017 tour, featuring lots of new material from their forthcoming release. Tickets £10 (U19 and students £5).

This mixed instrument workshop will take a tune and then explore arrangements and approaches to performance. This will involve looking at how each instrument can contribute to create different effects and textures. Participants will learn the tune (e.g. flat picking on guitar), and look at stylistic considerations to bring the tune to life, then enhance it by exploring alternative chord progressions, chord voicings and rhythmic approaches to create a convincing narrative. Stewart and Frank are both very experienced teachers on their own instruments and are highly regarded as workshop leaders for mixed instruments. Stewart and Frank will play fiddle and guitar, but all instruments are welcome.
