Dunstanburgh Castle / The Cheviot Rant

Willy Miller, who wrote these tunes, was a founder member of the very popular Northumbrian dance band, The Cheviot Ranters. Sadly, he was no longer playing with the band by the time they made their recordings for Topic Records, but there are some field recordings around, including a performance at Cecil Sharp House of The Cheviot Rant which he plays in the “swung” style also associated with Willie Taylor.
