New Year’s Gift

A classic and incredibly versatile tune from Tyneside’s finest, James Hill, presented for you in a bumper edition of a “straight” hornpipe at three different speeds, a brisk schottische and flight of fancy rant. I originally came across this tune in the key of A major and played it that way for many years. It was by accident that I discovered the joys it held in the key of G major. All the recordings are in G and the worksheet gives it in both keys.
