Description

Wild Hills of Wannie

The Scottish version of this tune, ‘The Hills of Glenorchy’, is played as a pipe march or a jig and dates back at least as far as the first decade of the nineteenth century. In Northumberland it is more commonly heard as an air and that is how it is presented here. I learnt this version from my friend, Northumbrian piper Dave Shaw.
