This very small and intimate House Concert will be a wonderful chance to hear Stewart and Frank up close! Tickets are extremely limited and are £10 per person. Email music@stewarthardy.co.uk to reserve one and for venue details – first come, first served and just a few seats remaining! There will be drinks afterwards, and hopefully the chance for a short session too so bring your instruments!
The wonderful Dr Fred Freeman is launching the penultimate CD in his landmark recording series “The Complete Songs of Robert Tannahill.” Frank McLaughlin and I were delighted and honoured to be involved with this project, which was also engineered by our good friend, Richard Werner. It features some of Scotland’s finest singers and instrumentalists. You can read about the concert and, indeed, book tickets on the Celtic Connections website. Have a look at the cast list – it’s not often you get a chance to see such a line up in one concert!
Stewart and Frank are heading off to Cambridge to play in the Basement at CB2 Bistro. This is a great venue for acoustic music and the concert, forming part of the May 2017 Tour will feature lots of new material from their forthcoming release.
CB2 Bistro are offering 10% off your food bill at the restaurant that evening for ticket holders. Contact the Bistro to book a table and take your concert ticket with you (01223 351181 / office@cb2bistro.com)
Mick West, Frank McLaughlin and Stewart Hardy – Scots song and instrumentals from Scotland and Northumberland on fiddle, guitar and Scottish small pipes. Mick has one of Scotland’s most distinctive voices, and in this trio his rich, warm and expressive singing is complimented on guitar and fiddle by the highly creative playing of Frank McLaughlin and Stewart Hardy. The trio has a long standing musical kinship which shines through their arrangements, and makes for a joyous and inspiring performance.
Stewart and Frank are delighted to be finishing their May 2017 Tour at Gallery 45 in Felton. This wonderful gallery and arts centre was the location for their recent video shoot and with the venue’s fabulous acoustics this promises to be a great concert, featuring lots of new material from the forthcoming release.
Frank and I are very pleased to have been asked to come and play at this year’s Rothbury Traditional Music Festival, which is one of my favourite events in the local calendar. We are expecting to perform outside on the green during the day, in the Auction Mart in the evening and possibly popping into the tea time concert in the Church. There will always be time for fish and chips on the village green and for taking a shufty at some of the competitions.
A lovely intimate House Concert at a friend’s house in the south west of corner of Gateshead, where we will be playing more new material from our upcoming album.
Tickets for this concert are all sold now, but sign-up to the newsletter to hear about details of future concerts.

🎶 The Tune VaultWe've just had a wonderful fiddling weekend at Shepherds Dene. Many thanks to the lovely folk who came along and contributed so much to making the whole event such fun. Now I’m back home, it's time to open The Tune Vault and deposit another favourite James Hill tune. Hope you enjoy The Hunter.🎥 Link in the comments4 days ago

🎶 The Tune Vault - Scant of SillerWilliam Vickers Manuscript, 1770youtu.be/RCJpVSis614Sadly, hard times have become the norm for so many these days. Contributions to my bursary fund for assisting musicians to attend the various courses and projects that Ali and I put together are always gratefully received.Scant of Siller (Wm Vickers MS, 1770)A favourite tune that leapt out during an initial perusal of Matt Seattles first edition of the William Vickers manuscript, published as The Great Northern Tunebook back in the 1980s. I suspect some development of the tune has occurred over the years. It still seems to sum up the pecuniary position of a jobbing musician! ...
