My friend, Bryan Jackson and I get together whenever possible to play through his wonderful arrangements of classical and folk music. I got to know Bryan through the Monkseaton Morris Men for whom he played fiddle and danced for many years. We will be providing music for the RNLI weekly coffee morning, in the form of carols arranged by Bryan for two fiddles. All proceeds will go to the RNLI – come along and get into the festive spirit!
Stewart and Frank are excited to be playing in the beautiful church at The Hearth in Horsley. This concert is part of the May 2017 tour, featuring lots of new material from their forthcoming release. Tickets £10 (U19 and students £5).
Stewart and Frank are heading off to Cambridge to play in the Basement at CB2 Bistro. This is a great venue for acoustic music and the concert, forming part of the May 2017 Tour will feature lots of new material from their forthcoming release.
CB2 Bistro are offering 10% off your food bill at the restaurant that evening for ticket holders. Contact the Bistro to book a table and take your concert ticket with you (01223 351181 / email@example.com)
Mick West, Frank McLaughlin and Stewart Hardy – Scots song and instrumentals from Scotland and Northumberland on fiddle, guitar and Scottish small pipes. Mick has one of Scotland’s most distinctive voices, and in this trio his rich, warm and expressive singing is complimented on guitar and fiddle by the highly creative playing of Frank McLaughlin and Stewart Hardy. The trio has a long standing musical kinship which shines through their arrangements, and makes for a joyous and inspiring performance.

Repertoire & Music Skills (Mixed Instruments)
12th – 14th June 2020
Parcevall Hall, Appletreewick, Skipton, N. Yorks BD23 6DG
5.00 pm start and finish time.
Join Stewart in the beautiful surroundings of Parcevall Hall in North Yorkshire for a weekend workshop learning new repertoire and improving music skills. Courses are open to players of any instrument (including transposing instruments) and are aimed at a broad range of abilities from intermediate to advanced. This workshop will focus on “How to Learn by Ear” with tips and techniques for improving this invaluable music skill – whether for use in future workshops, learning tunes from recordings or for picking up tunes more easily in your local sessions. Repertoire will be carefully chosen to facilitate the teaching of this skill, whilst adding interesting and exciting tunes to your repertoire.
The workshop will typically take between 8 and 12 people from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon. The residential weekend fee of £335 covers all food, tuition, daytime refreshments and two nights single occupancy accommodation, some of which is en suite (for medical reasons, then first come first served). The non-residential rate is £250 and includes everything except bed & breakfast. Sheet music and mp3 files of the tunes covered are sent out in advance, and recordings of arrangements created during the course are sent on to you afterwards.
For further information or to book your place on this course, please email Ali (firstname.lastname@example.org)

After dinner writing part of the letter to my Father till 4 then cleand up and oph to Mr D’s to T – there was a great company of the working class. - Mr Howard and the Dancing Master was there with a very curious fiddle – did not think much of his playing the company broke up about 12, a few of them (Kitchen Compy) fold us –"The 'curious fiddle' may well be a pochette - a small violin designed for easy transport. ...
