It’s time for another set of Zoom workshops!
Friday 15th December in the evening for a play-along session, and Saturday 16th December for two fiddle workshops, at 10 am and 2 pm.

These are always great fun! It’s lovely to see everyone on the screen, coming together to play-along with some of my favourite tunes on the Friday evening session. There are harmony lines and chord suggestions, so you can play in unison, or duet, or accompany the tune. The tunes are played steadily, but not slowly, and always with lots of groove! All instruments are welcome, and we can provide notation in different clefs and in different keys with a little notice.

On the Saturday, there will be two more excellent fiddle tunes to get our fingers around. The two hours fly by with a warm up, some technical work that will be useful for each particular tune, and then the tunes are taught phrase by phrase with lots of repetition. This allows time to learn by ear if that is your chosen method, but notation is also provided. There is a full worksheet, with bowing and ornament suggestions, and audio recordings of the tunes for you to keep afterwards. The two workshops are aimed at slightly differing ability levels, but there is always lots to learn from a more accesible tune, and why not push yourself a little with the more advanced workshop – Zoom is great because you can attempt things without anyone hearing you, and you can always come back to it again at another time.

If you aren’t available on the actual day, you can still sign-up and enjoy the session or fiddle workshops as all Zoom calls are recorded, edited and available afterwards, so you can watch them and join in at your convenience. It also means that if you would like to go over anything again afterwards, you can pause and repeat as many times as you wish!

Full details are available on the December Workshops 2023 info page and you can book your place now via the Shop. There are discounts available if you book two or three of the workshops together. Any questions, do get in touch via the Contact Form.
