As we are unable to run our lovely residential weekends at the moment, I thought a few workshops might be welcomed! It will certainly be lovely to see some happy faces taking part on Zoom!
The Friday evening Play-along session on 2nd October is open to all instruments. I’ll play the tune through your headphones, and you can play along with me, or play some suggested harmonies or make up your own! Chords are also provided which you can use provide some rhythmic accompaniments! Full notation including chords and harmonies will be provided. There will be plenty of short breaks to rest your ears and eyes from headphones and screens, and to get a drink. It should be a lovely relaxed evening of music making.
On Saturday 3rd October there will be two Fiddle Workshops, aimed at slightly different abilities, though both will be accessible to many players. Techniques, and tunes exemplifying those techniques will be taught, with suggestions for bowing and ornaments provided. Worksheets and audio files will be available for the tunes covered.
All these live workshops will be recorded, so if you have technical problems you will be able to catch up afterwards, or if you aren’t able to be present live, but still want to have the atmosphere of the live call, you can watch it later. You can sign up to all three workshops for £50, any two for £35, or a single workshop is just £20. Full details are available here and email Ali to reserve your place!
